Teen arrested over Enfield assault

A teenager will appear in court today charged over a serious assault on another teen at Enfield yesterday afternoon.

About 2.45pm on Tuesday 11 March, police were called to a home in Ward Terrrace, Enfield by reports that a teenager had been assaulted by two other males armed with a machete.

The victim, a 19-year-old Enfield man, sustained a significant injury to his right hand and was taken to hospital by ambulance.  His injury, although serious, is not considered life-threatening.

The suspects had left the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

Following investigations by Youth and Street Gang Task Force investigators, a 17-year-old boy from Seaton was arrested and charged with aggravated assault cause serious harm, carry offensive weapon and theft.

Officers also allegedly recovered the victim's stolen mobile phone.

​The arrested man was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court today, Tuesday 12 March.

Investigations are continuing to identify and locate the second suspect.
