Three girls arrested over attempted theft at Pennington

Three teenage girls were arrested after allegedly trying steal alcohol from a licensed premises at Pennington overnight.

It will be alleged the group entered the gaming room of the hotel on Grand Junction Road, Pennington about 2.30am on Saturday 16 November, went behind the counter and grabbed bottles of alcohol.

Quick-thinking patrons locked the doors, and two suspects were trapped inside and detained by security.

The third left the hotel in a rideshare car but was stopped by a police dog patrol arriving at the scene.

The three girls, aged 15, 15 and 16, were arrested and charged with attempted theft, aggravated assault on security and property damage to the doors trying to get away.

Two girls were refused police bail and are expected to appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Monday.

A 15-year-old girl was bailed to appear in the Youth Court on 9 January.
