Train collision at Edwardstown

Roads have reopened following a collision between a train and car at Edwardstown this evening.

A train and car collided at the intersection of South Road and Cross Road, Edwardstown about 5.15pm on Thursday 24 April.

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.

The driver of the car, an 89-year-old Elizabeth Vale man, was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

His vehicle was towed from the scene.

Roads reopened about 7.45pm.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
