Search at Granite Island concludes

12 Sep 2024 9:37am

Police and Emergency Services have conducted a large-scale search for a missing 16-year-old-boy who disappeared after falling from rocks on Granite Island on Sunday 1 September.

Unfortunately, the youth has not been located and the search efforts concluded at last light on Wednesday 11 September.

The 10-day search has involved daily searching on foot and in vehicles of Granite Island, searching the coastline from Victor Harbor to the Murray Mouth, vehicle patrols of Goolwa Beach and numerous flights using the Police Helicopter. Water Operations Unit members have also assisted with the search, and we have utilised drones to search rock cavities.

Police would like to thank the volunteers and emergency services involved for their dedicated efforts throughout the 10-day operation.
