Police appeal for witnesses over Bowden fatal crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal crash at Bowden last month.

It will be alleged that about 7.46pm on Monday 19 August, emergency services were called to Hawker Street after a 49-year-old Bowden man was hit by a car.

The vehicle involved allegedly left the scene of the crash prior to patrols attending.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with critical injuries and died on Monday 2 September.

On Thursday 5 September, Major Crash officers arrested a 46-year-old Wattle Park man and charged him with cause death by careless use of a motor vehicle and leave scene of accident after causing harm.

He has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 27 November and has been issued with an immediate loss of licence notice for an indefinite period.

His vehicle has been seized and will be forensically examined.

Police are also appealing for witnesses who may have seen the victim at or near the scene prior to the crash.
