Update: Suspicious fire at Port Elliot

Just after midnight, Friday 17 April, police and fire crews were called to Hill Street after reports that a gymnasium was on fire. MFS and CFS moved quickly and were able to extinguish the fire, however not before it caused substantial damage to the building and neighbouring premises.

Victor Harbour CIB and Fire Cause Investigators have attended the scene this morning and conducted an examination. The fire is being treated as suspicious. Detectives have been reviewing nearby CCTV this morning and have identified a light-coloured vehicle seen near the premises around the time of the fire.
