Drink driver on Fleurieu Peninsula

02 Oct 2024 7:13am

A man has lost his licence after being caught drink driving in Middleton yesterday evening.

Just after 6pm on Tuesday 1 October, police stopped a Nissan van on Hero Avenue at Middleton for a random driver test.

The driver, a 52-year-old local man, submitted to a breath test where he provided a positive result of 0.253 – more than five times over the legal limit.  Checks revealed he was also medically suspended from driving.

The man was reported for drink driving and driving whilst being disqualified.  He was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence and his van was impounded for 28 days.  He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
