Youths arrested after weekend property destruction

Police have arrested four youths in Kangaroo Island.

Between 10pm on Friday 24 January and 7am on Saturday 25 January a Toyota Landcruiser 4WD was stolen from the Kangaroo Island Hospital.

It's alleged the car was used to knock over a number of road signs then crashed into a paddock causing damage to fencing and the car.

At 8am the car was located abandoned near the Kingscote cemetery.

It is estimated that thousands of dollars’ worth of damage was caused to the fencing, car and road signs.

Police attended and were able to identify the suspect youths involved.

On Saturday 25 January a 17-year-old boy from Kangaroo Island was arrested.

On Sunday 26 January a 14-year-old boy and 15-year-old girl from Kingscote were arrested.

Today (Monday 27 January) a 17-year-old girl from Kingscote was arrested.

The group were all charged with theft and property damage and bailed to appear in the Kingscote Magistrates Court on the 28 April.
