Domestic arrest at Mount Gambier

Police have arrested a man following a domestic incident at Mount Gambier yesterday.

About 3.30pm on Monday 8 July, police were called to a domestic disturbance at a home in Mount Gambier.

Police will allege that a man known to the female occupant had entered the address and threatened to set it alight.

Fortunately, the woman was able to safely leave the home uninjured.

A 45-year-old Limestone Coast man was arrested and charged with threatening property by fire and possess object with intent to damage. He was refused police bail and appeared in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court today where he was remanded into custody.

Mount Gambier Police are committed to ensuring allegations of domestic abuse are thoroughly investigated, that victims are supported, and offenders are held accountable for their actions.
