Drink drivers caught on the Limestone Coast

Four drivers will face court after been reported for drink driving offences over the weekend.

At 5:50pm Friday 12 July, Limestone Coast Police stopped a Ford Territory on Commercial Street West in Mount Gambier after checks showed the vehicle was unregistered. Further checks revealed the drivers licence was expired.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Mount Gambier submitted to a breath test returning a positive result of 0.149. The driver was reported for drink driving, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving with an expired licence.

The driver will not be able to hold a licence for six months and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

About 6:16pm Friday 12 July, Mount Gambier patrols stopped a Toyota Hilux utility on White Street in Mount Gambier.  The driver, a 35-year-old man from Wattle Range submitted to a breath test returning a positive result of 0.091.

The driver was reported for drink driving and he was issued with a 6-month instant loss of licence notification. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

At 9:48pm Saturday 13 July, Limestone Coast Police stopped an Isuzu DMAX utility on Sea Parade at Port MacDonnell for a mobile driver test. The driver, a 36-year-old man from Port MacDonnell submitted to a breath test and retuned a positive result of 0.085.

The driver was reported for drink driving and he was issued with a 6-month instant loss of licence notification. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

At 4:48pm Sunday 14 July, Millicent police stopped a Kia Cerato on Emily Street at Millicent for a mobile breath test. The driver, a 63-year-old man from Millicent submitted to a breath test returning a positive result of 0.098.

The man was reported for drink driving. He was issued a 6-month instant loss of licence notification and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
