Police have detected three drivers committing offences in the Limestone Coast over the weekend.
At 12am on Friday 4 April, a 36-year-old man from Mount Gambier was arrested after he failed to stop for police. The man was found in his car on Oakmont Court at Worrolong shortly after. Checks on the man’s licence revealed he had a disqualified licence. He was submitted to a roadside drug test and allegedly returned a positive result for methamphetamine.
The driver was charged with failing to stop for police and driving while disqualified. He was bailed to appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on 2 June.
About 12.10am on Saturday 5 April, police stopped a Hyundai sedan on Kurrajong Street, Mount Gambier and submitted the driver to a breath test. He allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.105.
A 19-year-old Mount Gambier man was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Police stopped a Mitsubishi ute on Jubilee Highway West at Mount Gambier just before 6pm on Sunday 6 April. The driver, a 26-year-old Mount Gambier man, was breath tested and allegedly produced a blood alcohol reading of 0.085. He was reported for drink driving, issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded by police for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
