Firearm and drug arrest at Millicent

A Millicent man has faced court after he was arrested for firearm and drug offences this week.

On Tuesday 22 October, Mount Gambier police stopped a Holden sedan and discovered drug paraphernalia and cannabis within the vehicle.

Following investigations police searched a Millicent address and located a hydroponic cannabis set up together with two firearms and ammunition.

The 36-year-old Millicent man was arrested and appeared before the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court yesterday (23 October).

He was charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis, possession of a controlled drug, two counts of possession of a firearm without a licence, possessing ammunition without a licence, unlawful possession and driving a vehicle without a licence.

He has been remanded in custody until 17 February 2025.
