The Dukes Highway has reopened following a fatal crash at Brimbago last night.
Just after 11pm last night (Wednesday 5 February), emergency services were called to the Dukes Highway, near Eckert Road after reports that a B-double had crashed into a tree.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, sadly the driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man from Smithfield Plains died at the scene.
The Dukes Highway was closed in both directions between Keith and Bordertown for most of today. One lane has now been reopened with a contraflow in place to allow traffic to pass through. A tow truck remains on scene to clear the truck from the scene.
Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to determine the cause of the crash.
The man’s death is the 13th life lost on South Australia roads so far this year.
