Hoon driver arrested in Bordertown

Police have arrested a man following investigations into hoon driving.

Just before 8pm on Friday 4 April, police responded to reports of a Honda hatch being driven erratically and doing burn outs through the township of Bordertown.

Police received multiple calls where an off-duty police officer and members of the public detained the driver until police arrived.

The driver a 24-year-old man from Bordertown was arrested and submitted to a roadside driver test and allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.150.

The driver was charged with misuse of a motor vehicle, drive in a manner dangerous and drink driving.

He was issued a 12-month instant loss of licence, and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

He was bailed to appear in the in the Bordertown Magistrates Court on the 28 May.
