Limestone Coast Police were busy on the Easter Long Weekend keeping South Australians and visitors safe on our roads.
About 7pm on Friday 18 April, a 28-year-old Naracoorte man was stopped on Riddoch Highway, Naracoorte after reports he was tailgating vehicles. He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.168 and issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence. Police checks revealed he had never held a licence and his vehicle was unregistered. He was reported and will appear in court at a later date.
About 11pm on Friday, a 65-year-old man from Yahl recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.114 when pulled over for a mobile driver test on the Southern Ports Highway, Sandy Grove. He was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence and will appear in court at a later date.
About 12.30am on Saturday 19 April, an 18-year-old Victorian man was detected travelling at 95 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Wireless Road East, Mount Gambier. He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.074 and was issued with a six-month instant loss of licence. He was reported for drink driving, speeding and breaching the conditions of his provisional licence. He will appear in court at a later date.
About 12.50pm on Saturday, a 38-year-old Victorian man was detected driving at 155 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the Princes Highway, Reedy Creek. He was issued with a fine and a six-month instant loss of licence.
About 5pm on Saturday, a 31-year-old Rosetown man was stopped for a mobile driver test on Dowsy Street, Rosetown. He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.131 and issued with a six-month loss of licence. He was reported and will appear in court at a later date.
Just after 5pm on Sunday 20 April, a 28-year-old Naracoorte man was detected speeding at 156 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the Riddoch Highway, Naracoorte. He was issued with an expiation notice and a six-month instant loss of licence.
