A stolen car has crashed, and the driver arrested near Bordertown early this morning.
Just after 1.30am Monday 31 March, police and emergency services were called to the scene of a crash after reports a car had left the road and collided with a barrier. Witnesses to the crash reported that the driver had run from the scene. Police identified that the crashed car was stolen from Davoren Park on 30 March.
Police conducted a search for the driver, locating him nearby.
A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with a raft of offences including driving unlicensed, speed dangerous, theft of motor vehicle and property damage. He was refused bail and will appear in the Mount Gambier Magistrates Court later today.
The stolen car was seized by police.
