Speeding driver on Limestone Coast

22 Apr 2025 6:30am

A drink driver has been clocked travelling more than 60km/h over the speed limit in the state’s south-east yesterday afternoon.

About 5.15pm on Monday 21 April, police received a few calls from motorists advising there was a black Ford Falcon being driven erratically and tailgating other vehicles on Dukes Highway at Keith.

Patrols spotted the sedan heading towards Keith and clocked it travelling at 171km/h in a 110km/h zone.

The car was stopped, and police spoke to the driver, a 31-year-old woman from Bordertown.  She submitted to a breath test where she provided a positive result of 0.185 – more than three times over the legal limit.

She was reported for drink driving and driving at a speed dangerous and she was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence.  She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
