Teens arrested after driving stolen car across border

Four teenagers have been arrested after allegedly driving a stolen car from Victoria into South Australia.

Just after 11.20am, Wednesday 2 October, South Australia police received information from Victoria Police advising that a stolen green Volkswagen was travelling towards the SA border from Kaniva.

Limestone Coast Highway patrols sighted the Volkswagen just after 11.40am on the Dukes Highway at Pine Hill but the vehicle continued through Bordertown.

Patrols attempted to spike the vehicle at Tintinara, however it continued heading towards Ki-Ki.

PolAir was overhead and tracked the vehicle onto Goodall Road where just after 1pm the vehicle stopped and the four occupants were arrested.

The vehicle was towed from the scene for forensic examination. The vehicle was stolen from Colac overnight.

Two boys aged 15 and 16 and two girls aged 13 and 14, all from Victoria were charged with Illegal use of a motor vehicle. They were refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court Today (Thursday 3 October).
