ANZAC Day long weekend traffic in Murray Mallee

Murray Mallee Police were again out and about on the roads over the ANZAC Day long weekend.

On Friday 25 April, a 48-year-old Murray Bridge man was reported for driving while disqualified.  His 20-year-old passenger, a woman from Murray Bridge, was also reported for being in possession of drug and drug paraphernalia.  Both will be summoned to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Saturday 26 April, Murray Bridge Police reported three drivers during separate drug driving incidents.  A 37-year-old Murray Bridge man, a 52-year-old Loxton man and a 62-year-old Wellington man, all tested positive for illicit drugs.  They were all issued with a three-month loss of licence and will appear in court at a later date.

On 26 April, a P-plater was detected riding a motorbike at 150 km/h in a 110 km/h zone on the South Eastern Freeway at Callington.  The 26-year-old Murray Bridge man was reported for excessive speed and breaching the conditions of his provisional licence.  He will be summonsed to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

On 28 April, a 27-year-old Murray Bridge man was arrested for driving on Mulgundawah Road, in breach of his bail curfew conditions. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but it drove away at speed. A short while later Police located the vehicle and man who refused to answer any questions. He also refused to comply with directions to submit to a drug analysis test. He was charged with drive while disqualified, dangerous driving to avoid pursuit, breach of bail, fail to answer questions, fail to comply with drug test. The vehicle he was driving was impounded. He was refused police bail.
