Arrest at Murray Bridge

13 Dec 2024 11:27am

A man has been arrested following an incident at Murray Bridge on Wednesday night.

Police were called to Jarvis Avenue about 11.30pm on Wednesday 11 December following reports of a disturbance in the street.

A group of people left in a vehicle prior to police patrols arriving.

Police received information that one person was in possession of a firearm.

Murray Bridge police identified the people involved and later found the vehicle parked at a home in Francis Street.

Police set up cordons around the home and with the assistance of STAR group officers, safely negotiated two female occupants out of the home. A man was then found hiding in the roof space who was subsequently arrested.

A search of the suspect vehicle uncovered a gel blaster.

A 20-year-old man from Murray Bridge was charged with possessing a firearm without a licence, threatening to kill kil and other traffic offences. He was refused police bail and will appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court today.
