Bad behaviour at Berri

A thief has been arrested twice in a week for stealing alcohol from a Berri bottle shop.

About 4.15pm Saturday 14 December a woman entered a bottle shop on Vaughan Terrace and stole alcohol. A short time later police caught up with the 44-year-old local woman and reported her for theft. She was also issued with an on the spot fine of $262 for possessing alcohol in a dry zone.

Just before 10am on Monday 16 December the same 44-year-old woman entered the bottle shop on Vaughan Terrace and stole more alcohol. Police again located the woman a short time later and placed her under arrest. She was charged with theft and bailed with conditions not to attend the bottle shop. She will appear in Berri Magistrates Court on 20th January 2025.

Police will act swiftly on any reports of theft or anti-social behaviour and are committed to making the Riverland area a safe and enjoyable place for people to live, work and do their daily business.
