Burdett man faces firearms and drug charges

A man appeared in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court yesterday charged with firearms and drug offences after police searched his property last week.

On Monday 17 March, Murray Bridge Police searched a property at Burdett, with the assistance of a Police Dog, and allegedly located five firearms (including two gel blaster handguns), firearms parts, ammunition and a stolen motorcycle.

Ten cannabis seedlings were also located in a hydroponic set-up.

Following investigations, a 44-year-old Burdett man was arrested yesterday, Monday 24 March and charged with multiple counts of possess firearm without a licence, possess ammunition, cultivate cannabis and unlawful possession.  He was refused police bail and appeared in court yesterday.
