Drink and drug drivers caught in the Riverland

Several drivers have been put themselves and others at risk over the weekend.

At 6pm Saturday 1 June, Renmark Police stopped a car on Thurk Street at Renmark. The driver, a 35-year-old woman from Renmark submitted to a breath test returning a positive result.

She was reported for category two drink driving, she received a 6-month instant loss of licence and her motor vehicle was impounded. She will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

At 4.15pm Saturday 1 June, Murraylands police stopped a vehicle on the Princes Highway, Tailem Bend. The driver, a 33-year-old man from Tailem Bend submitted to a drug test and returned a positive result.

He received a 3-month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

At 2.30am Sunday 2 June, police stopped a vehicle on Commerce Road at Murray Bridge and the driver submitted to a breath analysis. The man, a 36-year-old from Murray Bridge returned a positive breath test result of 0.272.

He was given a 12-month instant loss of licence notification and his vehicle was impounded. He will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

At 2.45am Sunday 2 June, police stopped a vehicle on Brinkley Road, Murray Bridge. The driver, a 22-year-old male from Murray Bridge submitted to a breath test and returned a positive result of 0.117.

He was given a 6-month instant loss of licence notice, his vehicle was impounded and he will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
