Drink and drug drivers MMLSA

The following drivers were caught by Murray Mallee police over the weekend.

About 12.30am Friday 22 November Murray Bridge Police stopped a 25-year-old man from Murray Bridge driving on Gail Crescent with no rear window. Checks on the driver reveal that he is currently a learner driver. He was reported as he had no supervising driver, his vehicle was also defected. Further checks reveal that the licence plates had been altered, the vehicle was unregistered and also uninsured. The male was reported for driving offences and will be summoned to Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

About 9.40am on Friday 22 November Murray Bridge Police reported a 54-year-old woman from Murray Bridge for drink driving after she was located in her vehicle on Long Island Road. The woman was breath tested allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.242. She was issued with a 12 month instant loss of licence, had her vehicle impounded for 28 days and will be summoned to Murray Bridge Magistrates Cort at a later date.

About 4.10pm Friday 22 November Murray Bridge Police reported a 33-year-old woman from Murray Bridge from drink driving after she was stopped driving on South Terrace at Murray Bridge. She was breath tested allegedly returning a positive result of 0.085. She was issued with a six month loss of licence and had her vehicle impounded for 28 days. She will be summoned to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

At 6.25pm Friday 22 November Loxton Police reported a 27-year-old man from Loxton for drug riding. It will be alleged that he was riding a motorbike on Coral Street when he was stopped returning a positive result for riding with illicit drugs in his system. He was issued with a three month loss of licence and may be summoned to Berri Magistrates Court pending forensic analysis.

About 4pm Saturday 23 November Loxton Police reported a 59-year-old man from Loxton for drink driving. He was stopped driving on East Terrace when he allegedly returned a positive breath test reading of 0.175. He was issued with a 12 month instant loss of licence and had his vehicle impounded for 28 days. He will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Cort at a later date.

About 7pm Saturday 23 November Loxton police reported a 63-year-old man from Loxton for drink driving. He was stopped driving a campervan on Pine Avenue, Loxton for the purpose of a breath test. He allegedly refused to comply with for a breath test. He was issued with a 12 month instant loss of licence. He will be summoned to attend at Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

About 10.40am Sunday 24 November Loxton Police reported a 56-year-old woman from Meadows for drink driving. She was stopped driving a motor vehicle on Gratwick Road, Loxton and breath tested. She allegedly returned a positive result of 0.065. Police conducted checks on her licence revealing her to be currently disqualified from driving. Her vehicle was impounded for 28 days and will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court a later date.
