Four drivers caught under the influence

Four drink-drivers were caught over the weekend in the Murraylands.

On Friday 17 January about 9.10pm, police stopped a 29-year-old Cooltong man on Ral Ral Avenue, Renmark. The driver underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.101. The driver was reported for drink-driving, he received a six-month immediate loss of licence notice and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to attend Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

A short time later about 10pm, police stopped a car on Bridge Street, Murray Bridge as it only had one working headlight. The driver, a 47-year-old Murray Bridge woman underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.056. She was issued a fine for both offences.

On Saturday 18 January about 2.20am, police stopped a 54-year-old man from Chaffey on Ral Ral Avenue, Renmark. He underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.115. The man received a six-month immediate loss of licence notice, his car was impounded for 28 days and he will be summonsed to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Sunday 19 January about 5.35pm, police stopped a 57-year-old man from Moorook on Gogel Road for a breath test. It will be alleged that the man provided a positive breath test reading of 0.194. Checks showed that the driver was also unlicensed. He received a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and was reported for drink-driving. He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
