You're gonna need a bigger boot

25 Mar 2025 10:14am

Police discovered a large quantity of cannabis in an overstuffed car boot at Meningie on the weekend.

Police pulled over a vehicle driving with the boot open on the Princes Highway at Meningie about 1.30am on Saturday 22 March.

As police approached the car, a man jumped out and tried to close the boot, but it popped open again, revealing a large quantity of cannabis, partially concealed by a brown sheet.

The occupants of the car, a 25-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, both from Murray Bridge, were arrested and charged with trafficking in a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

They were bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 2 June.

The cannabis was seized, along with pairs of secateurs.  Investigations are continuing.
