Man arrested for trespass in Lyrup

A man has been quickly arrested after allegedly entering two houses in Lyrup overnight.

It will be alleged the man broken into a house in Gallary Terrace, Lyrup about 9.20pm on Monday 9 December and then an address on Thayne Terrace just after 2am this morning.

Occupants at both premises were confronted by an unknown man, who appeared to be looking for someone before he left.  No one was physically harmed.

A suspect, a 35-year-old Lyrup man, was located by police a short distance away and arrested.

He was charged with two counts of trespassing in a residence knowing another person to be present.  He was refused police bail and will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 10 December.
