Murray Mallee Local Service Area weekend traffic

On Friday 5 July, police stopped a white Holden sedan on Stratman Road, Monash and spoke with the driver. Checks revealed the man was driving without a licence. The driver, a 36-year-old Monash man was reported for driving without a licence and will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Friday 5 July, Murray Bridge patrols were conducting speed detecting duties on Karoonda Highway, Mindarie when a white Mitsubishi utility was detected travelling at 120km/h in a 110km/h zone. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Loxton was stopped and drug tested, where he provided a positive result for methamphetamine. He received an expiation notice for exceeding the speed limit, and a 3-month instant loss of licence, his sample will be submitted to Forensic Science SA for further analysis.

On Friday 5 July, Barmera police stopped a white Toyota utility on Nookamka Terrace and submitted the driver to a breath test where he returned a positive reading of 0.162. The driver, a 60-year-old man from Barmera, was reported for drink driving, issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded. He will be summonsed to attend court at a later date.

On Friday 5 July, Murray Bridge police stopped a silver Ford sedan on Lachlan Avenue, Murray bridge and submitted the driver to a breath test which returned a positive result of 0.143. The driver, a 27-year-old man from no fixed placed, was reported for drink driving, issued a 12-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

On Saturday 6 July, Renmark police stopped a silver Toyota utility on Fifteenth Street at Renmark and submitted the driver to a breath test, which returned a positive result of 0.081. The driver, a 48-year old man from Queensland was reported for drink driving and issued a 6-month instant loss of licence. He will be summonsed to attend the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
