MMLSA Weekend Traffic

Five drivers have been charged with traffic offences by Murray Mallee Police over the weekend.

On Friday 20 December, Berri Police stopped a Silver Ford utility on Kay Avenue and submitted the driver to a breath test, which returned a positive result of 0.090. The 31-year-old man was reported for drink driving and issued a six month loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Saturday 21 December, Murry Mallee Police stopped a black Ford SUV on Sturt Highway at Blanchtown and submitted the driver to a roadside drug test which returned a positive result for Cannabis. Checks revealed the 27-year-old Loxton woman was suspended from driving. She was reported for drug driving and driving suspended. Her sample will be sent for further forensic analysis.

On Saturday 21 December, Murray Mallee Police stopped a black Kia SUV on Old Princes Highway at Murray Bridge East. Checks revealed the 35-year-old Modbury Heights man was disqualified from driving. He was reported for driving disqualified and will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Sunday 22 December, Murray Bridge Police stopped a grey Mitsubishi SUV on Swanport Road and submitted the driver to a breath test which returned a positive result of 0.138. The 34-year-old woman from Murray Bridge was reported for drink driving, issued a six month loss of licence and her car was impounded. She will be summonsed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.

On Sunday 22 December, Renmark Police stopped a red Holden hatchback on Red Gum Street at Renmark and submitted the driver to a breath test which returned a positive result of 0.121. The 29-year-old Renmark man was reported for drink driving and issued a six month loss of licence. He will be summonsed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
