A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a staff member at a Murray Bridge hotel yesterday.
About 11.45am on Tuesday 25 March, police were called to a hotel on Jervois Road after a man was refused entry to the premises and he allegedly assaulted the staff member.
Police spotted the man on Swanport Road and he ran from the area. A short foot chase ensued and the man jumped over fences of homes before hiding in the boot of a car. He was located in the boot and arrested shortly after.
A 30-year-old Murray Bridge man, was charged with assault, breaching a barring order and illegal interference. Following an investigation, the man was further charged with seven counts of shop thefts alleged to have occurred over the past ten days. The man is being medically assessed before he appears before the court.
