Murray Mallee pair charged with drug and firearms offences

Two people were arrested and charged with drugs and weapons offences after Loxton Police searched a Murray Mallee property yesterday.

It will be alleged officers located two insecure firearms, ammunition, fireworks and cannabis at the property on Tuesday 25 February.

A hydroponic set up (not in use) was also located, along with 18 large mature cannabis plants and a quantity of dried cannabis.

A 51-year-old Paringa man and a 39-year-old Murray Mallee woman who resides at the property were both arrested and charged with cultivate cannabis, trafficking in a controlled drug, possess prescribed equipment, possess firearms without a licence, possess unregistered firearms and possess ammunition.

They were refused police bail and will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 26 February.
