Murray Mallee Police detected four drivers committing traffic offences over the weekend.
About midnight on Friday 7 June, Riverland Police stopped a car travelling on Bookpurnong Road, Loxton North. The driver, a 28-year-old man from Morphett Vale, did not hold a current drivers licence. He was reported for the offence and will be summonsed to appear at Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
On the same day about 5.50pm, a car was stopped on Swanport Road at Murray Bridge. The driver, a 30-year-old man from Murray Bridge was drug tested and he provided a positive result to cannabis. He was issued a three-month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear at Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Sunday 9 June about 6pm, police stopped a Mitsubishi sedan on William Street at Loxton. Checks revealed the driver, a 19-year-old man from Loxton, was driving whilst being disqualified. He was reported for the offence, and he will be summonsed to appear at Berri Magistrates Court at a later date. His vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
Patrols stopped a Mitsubishi Lancer on Sturt Highway at Waikerie about 11am on Monday 10 June. The driver, a 39-year-old man from Waikerie, submitted to a drug test where he provided a positive result for methamphetamine. He received a three-month instant loss of licence and will be summonsed to appear at Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
