Murray Mallee police have detected six drivers behaving poorly over the weekend.
On Saturday 22 March, police detected a car speeding on Pallamana Road, Pallamana. The driver a 33-year-old man from Mannum underwent a roadside screening test, returning a positive result for illicit drugs. He was issued with a three-month immediate loss of licence notice and may face further charges pending forensic analysis.
On Saturday 22 March, police were conducting speed detection duties on Sturt Highway, Cobdogla when they detected a Toyota utility travelling 91km/h in a signed 80km/h zone. The driver underwent a breath test returning a positive result of 0.097. The driver a 36-year-old man from Kingston on Murray was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence and issued an expiation notice for exceed speed. He will appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Sunday 23 March, Berri police stopped a Ford sedan on Balfour Ogily Avenue, Loxton North for a roadside screening test. The driver a 39-year-old man from Loxton returned a positive result for illicit drugs. He was issued a three-month immediate loss of licence and may face further charges pending forensic analysis.
On Sunday 23 March, police stopped a motorcycle on River View Road, Murray Bridge and submitted the rider a 55-year-old man from Seaford Rise to a roadside screening test. The rider returned a positive result for illicit drugs and was issued with a three-month immediate loss of licence. He may face further charges pending forensic analysis.
On Monday 24 March, police stopped a Mazda sedan on Lean Street, Berri. The driver a 25-year-old Berri woman was submitted to a roadside screening test. She returned a positive result and issued a three-month immediate loss of licence and may be summonsed to court pending results of forensic analysis.
On Monday 24 March, police stopped a 68-year-old man driving a motor vehicle on Purnong Road, Mannum and submitted the driver to a breath test where he returned a positive result of 0.141. He was issued with a six-month immediate loss of licence and will be summonsed to court at a later date.
