Murray Mallee police have over the weekend stopped numerous drivers committing traffic offences.
On Friday 4th April a 25-year-old man from Berri was detected driving on the Sturt Highway at 125 kph in a 110 kph zone. He was breath tested and returned a reading of 0.107. He was issued with a 6 month loss of licence and had his vehicle impounded for 28 days. He will be summoned to appear in Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Saturday 5th April Police reported a 25-year-old man from Murray Bridge after he was spotted driving a motor bike on Webb Street, Tailem Bend while not wearing a helmet. When stopped checks on his licence showed he was disqualified, the bike was also unregistered and uninsured. He will be summoned to appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Saturday 5th April Police stopped a vehicle on Hodge Road, Cadell and breath tested the driver a 54-year-old man from Cadell. It will be alleged that he returned a positive result of 0.147. He was issued with a 6-month instant loss of licence and will appear before Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Sunday 6th April Police stopped a 40-year-old woman driving on Sturt Street, Murray Bridge. Checks on the driver’s licence showed it to be expired, she was requested to submit to a roadside drug test which she refused. She was issued with a 6-month loss of licence, had her vehicle impounded for 28 days and will appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
On Monday 7th April a 48-year-old man from Burton was stopped on Swanport Road, Murray Bridge. Checks on his licence reveal that was currently suspended from driving. He will appear in Murray Bridge Magistrates Court at a later date.
Between 4th April and 7th April Murray Mallee Police have reported six drivers across the LSA for drug driving.
A 63-year-old man from Queensland, a 34-year-old man from Lameroo, a 33-year-old man from Murray Bridge , a 78-year-old man from Murray Bridge, a 40-year-old man from Murray Bridge and a 64-year-old man from Murray Bridge. All drivers received a three-month loss of licence and may be summoned to appear in their respective courts at a later date pending forensic analysis.
