A man has been arrested over a stolen motorbike at Murray Bridge yesterday.

At 3.30pm on Sunday 23 March, a Murray Mallee Highway Patrol officer stopped a black Yamaha motorbike on Riverview Road.

Checks on the motorbike revealed it had been stolen from a Lyrup address in January.

The rider, a 55-year-old man from Seaford Rise, was submitted to a drug test and allegedly returned a positive result to methamphetamine.

He was arrested and charged with Illegal use of a motor vehicle, driving unlicenced, drug driving, and driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle. He was also issued with a 24-hour driver direction notice. He was bailed to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on 28 April.
