Weekend traffic Murray Lands

The following traffic offenders were caught in the Murray region over the weekend.

Just after 3am on Tuesday 16 July a police stopped a car travelling on Murtho Road, Murtho. The driver, a 25-year-old Paringa man, was breath tested, allegedly returning a positive reading of 0.126. He was reported for driving and lost his licence on the spot for six months.

About 1pm on Sunday 14 July police stopped a car driving on Cypress Terrace, Murray Bridge. The driver, a 38-year-old Mount Barker man, was drug tested allegedly returning a positive reading for driving with methamphetamine in his system. Further checks revealed the man was unlicenced. He was reported for driving unlicenced and his test sample will be sent to FSSA for further analysis. Of great concern to police is that there was a child in the vehicle at the time of the offence.

About 5.30pm on Sunday 14 July police stopped a car on Swanport Road, Murray Bridge. Checks on the driver, a 33-year-old Woodville woman, revealed she had a suspended drivers licence. She was reported and will be summonsed to court at a later date. The vehicle was impounded.

About 3.15pm Saturday 13 July police were called to a crash at a hotel carpark on Princes Highway, Tailem Bend. Police breath tested the driver, a 28-year-old Murray Bridge man, who returned a positive reading of 0.089. He was issued a fine for drink driving and the vehicle collision. He was issued an instant loss of licence notice for six months.
