A man was arrested for numerous traffic offences after being caught speeding in the northern suburbs yesterday.
Just after 10am on Tuesday 18 February, police were conducting speed detection duties on Port Wakefield Highway at Waterloo Corner when they detected a silver Suzuki sedan travelling at 116km/h in a 90km/h zone.
Patrols stopped the car and spoke to the driver who provided false details. When the man’s details were confirmed, checks on the man revealed he was disqualified from driving and he was breaching his Home Detention Order.
The driver was drug tested and returned a positive result to methamphetamine.
The 39-year-old man from Parafield Gardens was arrested and charged with exceeding the speed limit, providing false details, driving whilst being disqualified, drug driving and three counts of breaching bail conditions. He did not apply for bail and appeared in Elizabeth Magistrates Court today (Wednesday 19 February).
