Disqualified driver fled collision

A man has been arrested after he ran from a vehicle collision at Andrews Farm.

Just after 12am Saturday 10 August, police received reports of a vehicle colliding with a kerb at the intersection of Esperance Drive and West Park Way at Andrews Farm.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle, a black 2010 Volkswagen sedan, had been badly damaged and that the man driving had run from the vehicle when approached.

A witness followed the driver and provided updates to police communications leading a patrol to the man. Checks revealed the man was disqualified from driving.

The 30-year-old man from Andrews Farm, was arrested for drive disqualified, drive without due care, drive under the influence and failing to comply with a breath test. He was granted police bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court.
