08 Apr 2025 6:53am

A driver lost his car and his licence after he was detected drink driving at Elizabeth Vale overnight.

Just before midnight last night (Monday 7 April), police were travelling on Main North Road when they saw a Kia sedan travelling about 50 km/h in a signed 80km/h zone and swerving within the lane.

Police stopped the car and submitted the driver to a mobile driver test.

The driver, a 27-year-old man from Munno Para West, allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.107.

He was reported for drink driving, issued with a 6-month instant loss of licence and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
