Drug duo’s ‘Joint’ operation ends in arrest

A man and woman will face court on serious drug charges after being found in possession of cocaine and cannabis.

About 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 17 December) police from Northern District investigating the trafficking of drugs, attended a Gerald Boulevard address at Davoren Park to conduct a search.

Upon arrival, police spoke to an occupant, before entering the property and locating approximately 50 grams of cocaine, 1.5 kg of dried cannabis and a quantity of cash.

The occupants, a 24-year-old man and 30-year-old woman from Davoren Park were both arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking a controlled drug. The man also was charged with possessing a prohibited weapon after being found in possession of a set of knuckle dusters when he was arrested.

Both have been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 5 February.
