Extreme rider in northern suburbs

09 Mar 2025 5:47pm

A motorbike rider has been clocked travelling almost double the speed limit in the northern suburbs earlier this morning.

Just before 8am on Sunday 9 March, a State Traffic patrol was conducting speed detection duties on Angle Vale Road at Munno Para Downs when they detected a Kawasaki motorcycle being ridden at 119km/h in a signed 60km/h zone.

The officer stopped the motorcycle and spoke with the rider, a 63-year-old Munno Para man.  The man was reported for riding at an extreme speed, he was issued a six-month immediate loss of licence and his motorcycle was impounded for a 28 day period.  He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
