Failed hide and seek attempt

Two men have been arrested after being caught breaking into a business premises at Salisbury Park last night.

Just before 10pm last night (Monday 25 November), police were called to Sheringa Crescent after a member of the public spotted two people breaking into a business and then leaving the scene in a silver Subaru.

The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later on Johnswood Drive, where it had sustained a damaged front tyre and rolled into a letterbox in the front yard of a home.

Patrols quickly set up cordons, and one suspects was arrested after a short foot chase.

The second suspect was tracked by PD Bandit and located hiding in the front yard of an home on Redvers Road.

Checks on the Subaru revealed it had been stolen from an Underdale premises earlier this month.

A 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old man both from Burton were arrested and charged with unlawfully on premises and illegal use of a motor vehicle. They have both been refused bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.
