Grass fire at Gulfview Heights

A police patrol spotted smoke coming from the gully around 11.40am on Monday 17 February and went to investigate.

Police received several calls from the public also reporting smoke in the area.

A fire was located in a gully between Greenridge Court and Kiekebusch Road, Gulfview Heights.

Fire crews responded and extinguished the fire.  There were no reports of injury.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.  Crime scene investigators will attend the scene later this afternoon.
