A speeding drink driver was caught at MacDonald Park last night.

About 11.45pm Saturday 8 June police were conducting speed detection duties on Curtis Road when they clocked a Toyota Hilux ute travelling west at 93km/h in a 60km/h zone.

Police were able to stop the ute and speak to the driver, a 48-year-old Lewiston man, and submit him to a breath test. He allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.181.

Of great concern to police was that there were two children in the car at the time of the offence.

The man was reported for drink driving, lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court at a later date.
