Man assaulted in northern suburbs

Just before 8.30pm on Saturday 6 July, police and Ambulance crews were called to Mandeville Street after reports a man was assaulted.

The victim alleges he was walking on the street when a dark coloured Magna vehicle stopped nearby and a group of people not known to him, exited the car.  One of the suspects assaulted him with a machete, causing a laceration to his leg.

The 26-year-old victim from Davoren Park, was taken to hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Northern District Detectives and forensic investigators attended the scene.
