Man charged with child sex offences

A northern suburbs man faced court today charged with a number of child sex offences.

On the 11th of June 2024, Police from the Public Protection Branch arrested a 33-year-old man from the northern suburbs for three counts of breaching his reporting obligations and a further six counts that related to him communicating with a child and possessing child exploitation material.

He did not apply for bail and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Detective Chief Inspector Naomi Oberscheidt from the Public Protection Branch states, "Police urge anyone in the community who needs to access support in relation to child abuse or exploitation to visit the ACCCE website – www.accce.gov.au - for a full list of available support services with contact details.

"Members of the public who have information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.accce.gov.au/report. If you know abuse is happening right now or a child is at risk, call police immediately on Triple Zero."
