Man charged with child sex offences

25 Jun 2024 10:42am

Detectives from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET), a joint team between South Australia Police and the Australian Federal Police, arrested a 19-year-old man from the northern suburbs yesterday.

The man was arrested for four counts of possessing child exploitation material and one count of disseminating child exploitation material.

The man was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Graham Tomkins from SAPOL’s Public Protection Branch said, “The sharing of child abuse videos and images is not a victimless crime. These are not just images on a screen, every image and every second of a video has a real child being abused and being subjected to a situation that no child should ever experience.”

“The South Australia Police with our partner agencies will never waiver in our efforts to protect the vulnerable.”
