Money laundering and drug arrests

A man and a woman have been arrested for drug and firearm offences after properties were searches in the northern suburbs yesterday.

On Wednesday 6 November, Detectives searched a property in Angle Vale and one in MacDonald Park, where they located large quantities of methamphetamine, ecstasy and cocaine.  They also found a firearm, ammunition, body armour and an amount of cash.

A 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, both from MacDonald Park, were arrested and charged with four counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug, further drug offences, possessing a firearm without a licence, possessing body armour without approval and money laundering.

The pair did not apply for bail and appeared in Elizabeth Magistrates Court today (Thursday 7 November) where they were both remanded in custody to reappear at a later date.
