20 Jul 2024 6:39am

A man has lost his licence for a year after he was caught drink-driving in the northern suburbs.

It will be alleged that about 9.45pm on Friday 19 July, police saw a white Toyota Camry sedan on McIntyre Road driving without its lights on.

The Toyota turned right to travel south on Bridge Road and police stopped the car.

The driver, a 31-year-old Salisbury East man underwent a breath test and returned a positive reading of 0.228.

He was reported for drink-driving and driving without lights, he was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
