Operation Mandrake arrest

A man has been safely arrested for firearms offences and numerous driving offences.

About 3.30pm Thursday 6 June, Officers from Operation Mandrake, Northern District and STAR Group attended an Elizabeth Vale home after receiving information a man at the address was in possession of a firearm. The man was also wanted for several serious driving offences.

Officers were able to negotiate with the man, a 40-year-old from Northfield, who surrendered to police and was safely arrested.

When police searched the home they located a gel blaster firearm.

The man was charged with possess a firearm without a licence, three counts of drive disqualified, drive unregistered, fail to stop, disobey red light and driving a vehicle with un-assigned plates.

The male was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today (Friday 7 June).
